How to use the Storage and Loads features

The Storage and Loads features together are designed to help you track grain from the field, to the bin, to your buyer. All users in your account can view or log a loads. Stay organized, avoid double entry, and make faster, more informed decisions. Watch the walkthrough or read step by step instructions below.

How to use Storage:

• From the main navigation menu, click Storage & Loads.
• Once inside, you’ll see separate tabs at the top for “Storage” and “Loads”.
• In the Storage click Add Storage and fill in the details of your storage type.
• Once you have Storage established you will see the buttons to Load or Unload:
• By clicking Load you will be able to log movement into Storage with the Destination and commodity pre-populated.
• By clicking Unload you will be able to log movement out of Storage with the Source and commodity pre-populated.
• Click on the Storage card to get more details about the bin, edit the bin details, and see a list of the grain movements (Loads) associated

Note: the Market Value is calculated for traded commodities and takes the current balance multiplied by the current futures market price. It does not take into account local basis or any contracted pricing. 

Click Log Bin Measurement to update the balance of a bin (clean it out, add grain from a location not tracked in your account, etc.)

How to use Loads:

• See a list of all the Loads across all fields, bins, and buyers. Use the filter button to drill down to what you want to see. 
• Click Log Load to document grain movement from the field to a storage location or a buyer. 
• Movements types are defined as:
  • In - grain moving into a storage location
  • Out - grain moving out of a storage location
  • Transfer - grain moving directly from a field to a buyer
  • Measurement - updating the quantity in a storage location without moving grain from a source location

How to use the Loads report:

• In the menu, click on Reports.
• Click on Loads Summary.
• Apply filters (such as date range, storage type, buyer, etc) to tailor the data you want to see.
• Scroll down to click Load Report.
• Export the report (e.g., CSV or Excel) for further analysis or sharing with collaborators.

Note: Storage & Loads is independent of the Contracts feature and is included in the Essentials plan.
