What Are Notification Preferences?
Notification preferences let you control what types of messages you receive from your agribusiness and how you receive them — by email, text message (SMS), or push notification on your phone.
How to Update Your Preferences
Open your app and go to Settings.
Select Notification Preferences.
You'll see a list of message types (called "topics") grouped into categories like Invoices, Quotes, or News.
Each topic has checkboxes for:
Push Notification — alerts on your phone
Email
SMS (text message)
Check the boxes for how you'd like to be notified, or uncheck them to stop receiving that type of message via that channel.
Changes save automatically.
Why Can't I Select a Channel?
If a checkbox is greyed out, it means that channel isn't available to you yet. Hover over it (or tap on mobile) to see why:
Channel | What to Do |
|---|---|
SMS | Add a phone number to your account. You can do this in the account app. |
Push Notification | Download the mobile app and enable notifications on your device. |
Add an email address to your account via the account app. |
Once you've added the missing information, the channel will become available.
What Topics Can I Manage?
The topics you see depend on what your agribusiness has enabled. Common examples include:
Invoices — Invoice coming due, payment received
Quotes — New quote available
eSign — Contract ready to sign
News & Announcements — Company news from your agribusiness
Bushel News
There's a special "Bushel News" topic for communications from Bushel (not your agribusiness). Unlike other topics, updating this preference applies across all of your apps — you only need to change it once.
Key Things to Know
Your preferences are managed separately for each agribusiness you work with. If you do business with multiple companies, update your preferences in each app individually.
Even if you turn off all three channels for a topic, you may still see the notification in your notification history — history is separate from delivery preferences.
Preferences default to opted-in for email and push notifications. You can opt out at any time.
